What are cryptocurrency exchanges?
How do they work?
Although each cryptocurrency exchange has its own regulations, there is a more or less standard operating procedure under which they all operate. To use a cryptocurrency exchange, the first thing you need to do is register your profile, and then you must establish a currency or currency under which you will carry out the bulk of your operations. Now you must make your first deposit of money. Depending on the exchange used, it will offer you different payment options, such as credit or debit cards, bank transfers, or payment gateways like PayPal. Later you can choose the leverage options that the Exchange offers, but remember to evaluate it carefully, because if you open any position with leverage, the risks increase.Types of cryptocurrency exchanges
We've already seen the basic function of a cryptocurrency exchange, and based on how they work, we can divide them into two main types. Here are the different types of exchanges:Centralized Exchanges
These types of platforms are the most common, and they function as an intermediary that connects users, providing the support they need to carry out transactions. Centralized exchanges hold cryptocurrencies in custody, and once deposited into the platform, the user has the option to link them to a wallet to have control of their own assets. These types of Exchanges provide regulations and charge commissions to use them.Decentralized Exchanges
On these types of platforms there is no centralized entity that manages transactions between registered users. One of its main advantages is that, thanks to not having a third party safeguarding the operations, it has greater privacy and also its commissions are lower, since they do not have to pay a group of workers to observe and safeguard the operations; however, they are more difficult to manage and are only recommended for the most experienced traders.Best cryptocurrency exchanges

Hello Pedro,
About three months ago, to explore the world of cryptocurrencies, I invested €250 in an international company called Monexholding or Monexaholldings. Living in Belgium, I suddenly found myself communicating with a company in Spanish with the same name. A very friendly woman begged me to invest up to €10000 with promises of high returns!
After two months, my crypto profit rose to $104,000 (???) And without any approval from me, that amount plus my €10,250 were sent by Monexaholdings to…Coinbase, where it became $130,000 or Euros!! Without me doing anything, in a Coinbase wallet that was always in Spanish! And, surprise, surprise, after making me pay €11,000 with the promise of recovering about €10,500 for CRYPTOGRAPHIC USE necessary for traders, that amount was sent (guess what) to Swissquote-es.com, a Spanish bank, it seems, and unknown to Swissquote Switzerland and Luxembourg, all perfectly legal? After asking me for €9050 for the apostille plus €9000 for one month's insurance, this fund, which is currently €154500 in Ethereum, needs to be converted to fiat euros to be sent to my bank in Belgium. But for the currency exchange, I owe them (surprise!) €18500. Otherwise, the funds will be frozen! And they're going to report me to the Belgian authorities and charge me taxes for aiding terrorism and money laundering!
At 80 years old, I don't even know what that is... anyway, that's still how things are...
I wonder if my bank will give me a chargeback! And maybe I can recover some of what I paid!
Thank you for your site where we can vent and…maybe…get help.
Best regards
Miguel Angel Ran Montañez
Hi Miguel Angel, you can't believe all these things they're telling you. It's all fake, and all they want is to get money through lies and scams. Don't send any more money, as it's all a fraud designed to steal money from your accounts. The most important thing is to spread awareness about these scams and, above all, contact your own banks and credit card companies so they can help you recover the money that was fraudulently taken from you.
Greetings.
Dear Sirs:
How can I recover 43.091 USDT that I have in a COINBASE WALLET account?
On July 1, 2025, I received a CERTIFICATE in my email, of my funds that you have in custody, signed on letterhead and with signatures of YOUR FINANCE DIRECTOR
And now they don't answer my emails or give me any information.
I have all the evidence and emails that you have been sending me. ppgad@pucrs.br
I URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP. THANK YOU.
Hi FERNANDO, who did you contact and what emails did you use to complete your request? I don't know if Coinbase sends letterheads, as you mention. Best regards.
